Transformative Clinical Experience with IMS Med Team

Working as a limited license physician through the IMS Med Team for the past year and five months has undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Reflecting on my journey, I remember the previous application cycle where I didn’t receive a single interview invitation, let alone a residency match. That experience pushed me to take a new approach—gaining additional hands-on clinical experience—and I am immensely grateful I did.

During my interviews, programs were especially interested in how I obtained my limited permit, my responsibilities in the nursing home, and the nature of my interactions with patients and the multidisciplinary team. I was proud to share the wide range of clinical experiences I gained, including managing rare and complex cases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

The mentorship, structure, and strong letter of recommendation provided through IMS Med Team played a pivotal role in my journey. I cannot thank the team enough for the opportunity to grow and practice medicine in such a meaningful way. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this path without hesitation.
